Support Groups
Finding support as you begin your new life as a homeschooler helps everyone in your family. Mom and Dad can benefit from support for their choice to homeschool, as well as enjoying hearing from families with more experience. Children can realize that there are many other children schooling at home. And everyone benefits from the social web that makes homeschooling so joyful.
Longmont Homeschool Group (aka Longmont NICHE) is a great place to find support, friendship and gatherings. Our members have years of experience and a desire to help new homeschoolers. Longmont Homeschool Group hosts a monthly Homeschool 101 class to help new homeschoolers find their own path on this journey. We also enjoy park days, play dates and classes together. For a bit of sanity, come enjoy our monthly Mom’s night out. Longmont Homeschool Group welcomes all homeschooling families, whatever their homeschooling style, parenting style, or spiritual/religious (or secular) beliefs may be. Membership is free. To join go to Longmont Homeschool Group.
Our sister group Northern Inclusive Colorado Home Educators (NICHE). NICHE, is another such local group in this area. NICHE is centered in Boulder County, with many of its active members in the Longmont, Lafayette, Erie and other surrounding areas. NICHE has members as far away as Westminster, Fort Lupton, and Estes Park, though the vast majority of the activities take place in Boulder County. If you are looking for a wide array of wisdom, conversation and events, the the larger Niche group is just what you are looking for. NICHE welcomes all homeschooling families, whatever their homeschooling style, parenting style, or spiritual/religious (or secular) beliefs may be. Membership is free. To join go to NICHE.
